I am

I am constant, barreling hurricane waters as a result of Hurricane Katrina.

It may have been a decade ago but I'm still decorated with the ache of misdirection.

That hurricane took everything out of my perspective.

And repainted the images invective into a mosaic of destruction.

This mosaic is laced in every part of my life.

As a seven year old, the door to my life closed, and another door opened.

I can't read maps and as the result of losing my inner compass amidst hurricane changes.

I lost the calibration.

I lost my home and went to some unexplored destination.

I am loneliness.

Loneliness crafts a new mosaic of me.

It displays me with celestial highlights in medium length hair.

I, as the protagonist, am dealing with selfish people who desire to use me for my knowledge, constantly trying to take from me like the thieves they are.

I am beautiful.

My beauty is untouched.

It can't be taken.

I've saved myself countless times.

As time passes with every time I look in the mirror, I see beauty.

Beauty that emerges from broken destruction and yet still shines.

Shining into a new direction because I have taken back my own direction.

I am the eye of a hurricane.

I see my worth through the beautiful halo glow around it.

My soul shines brighter than my smile.

I know I can conquer.

I am Queen.

Royalty in my own destiny.

The roads are already paved for me because that hurricane was an eruption of a loss of directed feet and incomplete instructions.

Destiny fought its way from loss to be found in my very own paved road.

I just have to hop into my carriage and travel on that golden, paved road because destiny is my destination.

The mosaic and its glass perspective, displayed on the road,  have been subverted.

I've turned an unnatural disaster's directive into a journey reflective.

A journey of suffering.

A journey of growth.

A journey of fight.

I am both celestial body and the dark at night.

I am hope.

Stolen roads and neighborhoods are tax returned to the stipend of my future.

They are building blocks with added support beams that amount to the total sum of my future.

I am the person I am now because of the building blocks that built up my soul.

Through all the adversity thrown at me, I've risen up.

Continuously rising higher.

I keep looking forward.

My optimistic mind is on cloud nine, and I won't fall into sorrow.

I'm fighting stagnant progress because I refuse to fall victim to it.

I am me.
