I am bold,
I am strong,
I am opportunity.
I am diverse,
I am contemporary,
I am observant.
I am an immigrant,
I am quiet,
I am the cause of racism.
I am poverty,
I am worry,
I am sorrow.
I am apologetic,
I am my gender,
I am seen as a burden.
I am not valued,
I am not purposeful,
I am not supported,
I am not normal.
I am heard,
I am not listened to.
I am told to be still
I am told to listen to God’s quiet voice I am told to feel His love.
I am told to give my burdens to Him, I am told to put my hope in Him,
I am told to trust.
I am all these things.
But most of all,
I am important.
