I Am

I am...

a soul lit on fire

with passionate dreams

sprinkled with stardust

and kerosine

love filled to the brim

openly ready to lend

too trusting with it

for my own good

a mind so open

not surprised by what I hear

non-conforming and knowledgable

I stand without fear

I am...

a soul skeptical of light

for I know it brings dark

weary of aspirations

for they never turn out as dreamed

love that has been hidden away

for it only causes trouble

keep it locked inside for now

although it only doubles

a mind so cloudy

full of doubt

worrisome of failure

sadness creeps along so often

I am...

all of these things

at once

highs and lows

a paradox

a contradiction
