I Am From #2
I am from a broken home.
Where I had to raise myself and protect my family.
I am from a house of lies.
Where my parents never felt love for one another, but stayed in it for me.
I am from a neighborhood filled with danger.
Where seeing someone shot or murdered was a regular thing.
I am from a home of threat.
Where having a black eye or a bruised arm was normal and well deserved.
I am from a place of fear.
Where my only safe haven was to run away.
I am from a city of hopeless dreams.
Where I could only dream to get away from my malevolent father.
I am from a home that changed me forever.
