I Am

I am but the printed words on the page.

To put it simply,

I am the writer.

I am but the gentle rhythms flowing into your ears.

To put it simply,

I am the musician.

I am but a child in the middle.

To put it simply:

I am scared.

I am the one always longing for the warmth surrounding me.

To put it simply:

I am in love.

I am the one that cries when no one’s around.

To put it simply:

I am broken.

I am there to stop their screams.

To put it simply:

I am the protector.

I am the one chosen to protect the people.

To put it simply:

I am their queen

I am the one that loves their cries.

To put it simply:

I am the villain

I am the thing that destroys the light.

To put it simply:

I am the darkness.

I am this, I am that.

I am a child, I am in love.

I am the writer, I am the musician.

I am broken, I am scared.

I am the protector, I am their queen.

I am the darkness, I am the villain.

And, to say it all simply:

I am what I am,

And what I am is me.
