I Am

I'm a poet,

Don't you know it?

Else the words build and start to blow.

I'm a poet,

Don't you know it?

Some ideas just have to flow.

My rhymes might be rough,

But I like all my stuff.

It gives a cadence and ebb

For what's in my head.

I'm a poet,

Don't you know it?

For thoughts and dreams, worries and cares.

I'm a poet

And I know it.

I will write whatever I dare.
