I Am

I am

As you see me

I am who God says I am

I am a middle child

A miracle itself in its creation.

Sprouting to life like baby plants

From a dark fertile soil.

I am sometimes

a calm sea unperturbed as life happens,

Content, satisfied.

Other times a blustering wind

a gathering storm

As I chart my course through pain,

Struggling to break free,

Unsure of who I am.

And what I would be

Full of fear for the unknown.

But still,

I am the hand that reaches out

To help you up, even when I am stumbling and frail.

I am strength,

I am beauty

I am she that sees you

I am

as you see me.
