I Am
I AM
I am a white rose enveloped by a sea of scarlet flowers.
I wonder if heaven lies atop the clouds that intersect the sun's rays.
I hear the murmurs of past mistakes and failures warning me of the future.
I see my smirking grandpa lurking in the shadows or our hearts, always there to crack a joke.
I want my loved ones to remain forever safe and happy.
I am a white rose enveloped by a sea of scarlet flowers.
I pretend the rays of annoyance don't burn my facade of everlasting patience.
I feel the warth of love radiating from my family's grasp.
I touch, but for one moment, the shield of everlasting protection, just before it slips away when I need it the most.
I worry that my nightmares will become a reality, and that my prayers will not be answered.
I cry when I think of the hopes and dreams my cousin's cerebral palsy destroyed.
I am a white rose enveloped by a sea of scarlet flowers.
I understand that my happiest memories will be that of simplicity and love.
I say the God is always just beyond the curtain of darkness that shrouds the light to come.
I dream that someday I will discover my callin without ever forgetting my roots.
I try to spread kindness and break the trend of hatred.
I hope I will remember the gift of love always and one day find my true love.
I am a white rose enveloped by a sea of scarlet flowers.
