I Am
I am
I am the rose that blooms in the violet hour. Seen but never saved or taken from where I feel safe at. Beautiful, and yet unaware of the beauty that shines from within the soul. The parts unseen but always heard are what make the rose.
I am the song that everyone knows, but no one knows the name to. Everyone knows my name but few know who I am. Everyone knows what they think is but few have known who I am.
I am friends with what hides in the shadows. I see what they see and understand why they like the dark truth rather than light bright lies. I understand what makes them feel calm and why they think of in the silent of the nights.
I am more that a closet poet, I have more to give to the world and more to prove to others. Nothing controls my thoughts nothing keeps me at ease but no one sees the inner workings of my mind.
I am the midnight philosophical questions. I wait to be heard and seen as more than another face in the crowd. Because I am more than that I have talents and I know how to make myself seen but I choose to not be.
I am the silent thoughts. I make many think and use more than their mouth to speak. I can make people open their mind to me with a simple question. I have made others think twice about their thoughts. I can help others see the world like I do and understand what I believe. I can make someone understand.
I am a not a princess waiting to be saved from a sad sappy fairy tale. I am a queen of my own kingdom of thoughts. I am a lover because I care and love everyone even the ones who have hurt me. A protector, for the way I take care of my family and friends; but if I wanted I could be the darkness. The deep dark secrets that everyone hides but always seems to catch up to them in the end.
For now I’ll be the quiet girl, in the dark clothes with a book in hand, in the ‘smart’ classes who says very little but thinks so very much. I think I know what I am and who I am.
I am the unknown girl, overlooked but always there.
