I am

I am Rachel Duncan

I wonder why this world has turned out the way it has.

I hear the cries of our ancestors saying, "what are you doing children?".

I see the pain in the eyes of those who've come before my time.

I wish my peers could see it too.

I am Rachel

I pretend that I'm okay with all the crime that takes place in my society.

I feel intense pain as I see people of my complexion and darker, being killed over foolishness.

I am tired of the people of this generation turning their back on one another.

I worry that my generation is headed toward a dead-end.

I cry every time I see the face of a mother whose son has been killed.

I am Rachel

I understand that my generation is "messed up".

I am ready to act.

I will help my generation succeed by any means necessary.

I am determined to teach my generation about the Lord and what his grace does for us.

I am determined to lead by example and teach my generation that hard work is the only one to prevail.

I am done making excuses.

I am done turning the other cheek when someone is in need.

I am Rachel Duncan.
