I am
All The loss I have been through has left me lugubrious.
I am the child who was given a second chance.
A second chance to be loved
by a family who comes home every night to take care of their children
I am the guileless child
left behind with her six other brothers and sisters.
I am altruistic
from all the times I had struggled and faced with pain and loss.
I am often tremulous
because I’m afraid of losing my family again.
All these memories of the pain and loss in my life makes me who I am …
I am benevolent because I know what it’s like to be mistreated.
I am always going to be the girl with the heart scared from loss and pain.
I’m not that broken girl who stands in the shattered mirror.
