I Am From
I am from Chicago, the violent city they call “Chi-raq”, with a beautiful skyline.
I am from pain, where I seen my own friend on the floor not moving, where I’ve been through hell and back trying to better myself.
I am from smiles, laughs that make others laugh, who likes to see others smile.
I am from my mom, who made me, who has dealt with me for 18 years, my best friend.
I am from sadness, sadness that no one sees, where I stay in my room, sleeping.
I am from Amundsen, that excelled my learning, made new friends, that turned me into a Viking.
I am from dad always yelling, to teach me life lessons, and has made me the tough soldier I am today.
I am from a secret, a secret side of me that no one has met, the side no one ever wants to meet.
I am from holidays with my family, that stay up all night full of laughs, and good vibes.
I am from hope, hope to make a change in my own life, from a hope to a better world, hope for peace.
