I Am
I am my heart, beating to a steady beat, never faltering.
I am my chuckles when I spend time with friends.
I am a hurricane, wild and unpredictable, but with a touch of calm.
I am the blue glow of my computer screen, paving the way for work and play.
I am my mom’s eyes when they light up to see me coming.
I am the scared little boy, traveling across the globe.
I am the night, and the fear and dreams it holds.
I am my parent’s voice, lulling me into reality.
I am the sun’s rays, burning on my face.
I am the humming bird that lays its eggs outside my room.
I am the cry that escapes my lips when I am down in the gutter.
I am the cry that comes when a gift is opened.
I am good, I am evil, I am a person.
For good or for ill.
I am me.
