I Am From
I am from Chicago where blood splatter and moms cry
I am from where if your dad walks out he’s never coming back
I am from the projects were roaches come even when your house is clean
I am from where drugs are ok to sell to anyone
I am from where it’s ok to kill each other
I am from where if the police kills you it’s ok
I am from black lives really don’t matter
I am from where if you die to never be afraid
I am from when you look at my color you look at me differently
I am from if someone puts their hands on me you shall put your hands on them
I am from its ok to whip your kids if they’re acting up
I am from tough love is how you are raised
I am from barbecues and big family events
I am from you will never make it out and that’s how it is
I am from.
