"I Am"
I am The Ghetto Revolutionary Poet
I wonder in opaque, what’s it gotta take to attain the ingrain of my neighborhood
I hear boom, then crash, the shattering of glass
I see the constant uproar in the streets that come with war which brings a flood made of blood
I am The Ghetto Revolutionary Poet
I pretend I don’t hear what they’re saying, sayin’ that I’m strayin’, society’s frayin’ from these hoodlum games I’ve been playing
I feel the spiritual anguish and deprivation of my people waiting in isolation for their salvation
I touch the intangible hoping to make it all manageable
I worry for my people out there living in the hood trying to maintain when it’s all just in vain
I cry for those who suffer in the streets, whether it be fiends or the homeless just trying to make ends meet
I am The Ghetto Revolutionary Poet
I understand all the complexities, necessities, and obscenities of this unfortunate lifestyle
I say what’s on my mind with, yet may I say again, spiritual anguish and critical language
I dream that one day we will esteem the disesteemed, and although it may seem as just a simple dream, I will make this dream reign supreme
I try to stay out of trouble on the daily because the consequences is deadly
I hope that y'all understand and help fix the deppreviaties and mortalities of my home as I do, because yes...
I am The Ghetto Revolutionary Poet
