I am..

I am a girl.

I wonder if we are understood.

I hear all of the names called our way.

I see the constant negativity in our eyes.

I want to be equal.

I am a girl.

I pretend no one says anything.

I feel the pain from their words.

I touch upon the lives of others.

I worry about our futures.

I cry over the stress.

I am a girl.

I understand some have a reputation.

I say little, afraid to be judged.

I pray that we will stand up.

I try to prove myself.

I hope the future has much more in store.

I am a girl.

I notice what our title has become.

I get confidence every once in a while.

I have received hate for what I love.

I have fear that people hate us.

I need to deal with all of this though.

I am a girl.
