I am
Hi.
I am a Christian.
I am the weird church girl,
the Jesus lover,
the one who dresses funny
the one who doesn’t drink
or smoke
or have sex,
the one who doesn’t cuss or coin OMG
I am the Christian music listener
the Bible study lover
The one who leaves practice early just to praise God again
And I am a sinner of the worst degree
You see
I go to church on Sundays because I NEED Jesus in the worst way
And I go I again on Wednesdays because without the light of his word and the joy from the songs my heart would crumble from Sunday to Sunday
I am broken
I am selfish and a liar and jealous and struggle with how much is to much and how far is to far
I am wrong no matter how much I strive to be right
I am a person that gives in over and over again when the devil is pulling and smiling and teasing me
I should say no but I don’t.
I am desperate and complacent
When my tears won’t stop and the guilt is to much
I am overtaken and I am shameful
BUT I am not alone
You see
I am one of Gods creations
Made to be loved
by reading his word,
By knowing him,
by loving him,
by begging for forgiveness on my knees at night in my bed when nobody can hear my cries
By singing praises
By understanding that his grace is enough because he LOVES ME
Not the me I want to be
Not the me I should be
But the ME I am NOW in this moment
He meets me half way And carries me the rest
So Hi.
I am a Christian.
Not because I am perfect
But because without God I am nothing
