I Am...

I am from NK

the town in the smallest of States.

I am from the state

where gas prices are the highest.

I am from a part of the U.S.

where the temperature can reach 100 yet plummet to 32.

I am from the summers spent on the beach.

The smell of the salty waves.

I am from a state where ‘bubbler’ and ‘wicked’ are common terms.

I am from an elementary school where hot food was only 2 dollars.

I am from a house on a hill,

lovely trees blooming in the spring, and leaves dwindling in the fall.

I am from the people who have surrounded me through the years

My mom, dad, sister and friends.

I am from the guava smoothie my dad makes on hot summer days

I am from the little round table I played around when I was a kid.

I am from the memories my sister and I playing on the rope swing in the backyard.

I am from the different foods eat – Thai, Mexican, Chinese and American

I am from the birds that sing in the morning.

I am from the mornings when my sister’s voice wakes me up in the middle of a dream

I am from pizza, spaghetti and grapes.

I am from the daily popcorn snacks after school.

I am from Taylor Swift, Michael Bublé and Jazz
