I Am

I am one of many Marching in formation. I am with others, moving in perfect synchronization In a smooth, sharp flow of movement. I hear the music all around me And move in time with its beat. I feel the beats of the drum keeping us steady. I see the white lines of the field under my feet Keeping our steps measured. I am one of many, marching in formation I am in the marching band. I am one of several In a single section We have many things in common But one thing most of all. I play my own part And everyone else's. I hear the other parts around me And hear my own fit in flawlessly. I feel the keys under my fingers And I taste the reed on my tongue. I feel the climax of the music coming Unit the music stops. I am one of several, in a single section I am an alto sax.
