I Am
I am
Childish and peevish
Immature and squeamish
Jovial and fiendish
Individual and queerish.
I am
Easy to entertain. I’m quiet; restrained.
I’m mentally strained and quite self-contained.
I am
A writer, musician, an entrepreneur
Un speaker du français, un peu monsieur
I know who I am and I love who I am.
I’m creative, unique, I can pass an exam.
I’m a thinker, a poet, and a scholar at heart.
And although that’s true and although I’m smart
I still often find ways to tear me apart.
“I hate me! I do! Every action I rue!”
I can scold me all day, but it’s never true.
Treat you like you love you
And tell yourself you’re le mieux
A good guy, a friend, a treat and a catch
That’s what I know that on my tombstone they’ll etch.
I’ll put myself on display
And just like you should, I’ll pray
That you’ll never hate you for even a day.
