I Am

The hair dye

The split ends

The glasses

The makeup

Caked on to bad skin

are just a small part of

The person I am

The quiet

reserved and serious

I display

Is just a mask

that is removed

For those who I know won't judge

The person I really am

I can be funny

And spontaneous

Silly and vivacious

Opinionated and creative

Around those who see me

For who I really am

But there's still one thing

That no one can see

I still have dreams of who else I will be

Dreams of another life

another place

And of what else I will create

Dreams that are fueled by the fire of determination

passion and innovation

only to be revealed when I

One day share with the world

Who. I. Really. Am.
