I Am

I am a man

but once a boy.

I became this way through struggle

not through ease.

I am scared of this world

yet I find it beautiful.

So many things to do

but so little time I have.

I am alone

yet there are so many people to know.

Strangers who become friends, friends who become lovers.

I am to become old

yet I could say I lived a full life.

A life of struggle, beauty, lovers.

I am me

and that's all that matters.
