I Am

Location

They tell me emotion is weakness.

They say I feel far too much to create something productive.

But I can't control it.

I am me,

Because of what I feel.

They say I speak far too excitedly,

And my enthusiasm is overbearing,

But I say happiness is something to savor.

They say I cry far too often,

And I am easily upset,

But I know my sadness should not be silent.

They tell me emotion is weakness.

But I know my emotion is strength.

I create because I am able.

My feelings spark my ability to speak.

And I would much rather write all I have to say,

Than accept what they want me to be.
