I AM

I am from the unknown,

from the sweet nector and the pillow of comfort,

i am from sweaty skins all around,

(rasping,damp,sun biting my skin)

i am from the iris,

the oak tree,

birds here and there

I am from birthday gatherings and pitch black hair,

from patricia and dona chepa,

i am from the fields

and the factorys,

from sientate bien and las chamacas,

i am from the angel of protection,

the lord of savior

I am from the sunshine state and the red ,white and green flag,

brown rice and soft beans,

from looking for a better life,

the struggle for success

from being forced,

to the land of oppurtunitys,

i am from the wailing land of the free.
