I am
I am
I’m from the blazing hot summers of Houston, when one is exposed to the Houston sun its impossible to not get twenty shades darker
I’m from waking up at eight o’clock in the morning during the summer to stuff my face with the guinness world’s record biggest cereal bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch.
I’m from staying up from sun up to sun down watching “Doug”, “Rocket Power” and “Hey Arnold!”
I’m from staying at school not worrying about what I learned but watching and remembering that cute girl flip back her pigtails that seemed to glisten like my peewee football trophies to only continue feasting on her lunchables at the same time scrounging around for her candybar like a mad man, Nicole
I’m from going to the nurse every hour to get crackers, apple juice, gargle some salt water and have an early lunch.
I’m from wanting to witness the glory at first hand, yet I'm only dreaming that I’m clenching on to it as I wait another 10 years in the peasant’s square while watching my older brother get into the king’s throne also known as..the front seat.
I’m from wanting to hangout with friends on the school playground but I ask myself, “What friends?”
I’m from staying home in solitude wishing I could change myself to be a social fanatic.
I’m from repeatedly doing up downs in the Summer Sun of Houston, letting it glare at the only kid wanting to improve.
I’m from working so hard until my whole body wants to crumble and say “give up”, but my body clenches on to the very little sheer will a nine year old MAN could obtain which brought me to Harmony Schools today.
I’m from Oakwood Glen, January 2nd, 1997.
