I Am From

I am from, everywhere.

Here and there, there are bits and pieces of me.

Through people, places, experiences and words, I Am From everywhere.

I am from my great parents who are long gone.

I am from my grandparents that are healthy and strong.

I am from my parents who have taught me right from wrong.

I am from my sister that is rowdy and tall.

I am from a family who has loved me through thick and thin.

I am from a childhood that was filled with laughter and joy, how could I complain with three families that were my cup of tea.

I am from Barney and Blues Clues to the Disney Princesses and Hello Kitty.

I am from the vibrance of hot pink, the coolness of royal blue and tranquility within the ocean blue.

I am from Garner State Park, my paradise away from my room, a land that brings nature to you.

I am from the loss of a grandfather who I never knew and the loss of a great grandmother that loved me until she turned blue.

I am from a mother so kind and bold, who literally is one with me.

I am from a father who is just like a me and a stepfather that will do everything for me.

I am from the place of education, although it is such a horrid adoration.

I am from the Earth that gives me life and happiness.

I am from the words that slip my mouth and the actions that make me, me.

I am from a life that brings me happiness but drives me to succeed.

I am from society that pushes me to follow my dreams.

I am from each moment where I yearned to give up yet persevered. 

I am from each time I had been disappointed and each time I suffered pain. 

I am from the times of challenge and controversy and others in between.

But most of all, I am from my family and friends that have held me together.
