I AM FROM

Digging my feet into the hot yet warm sand

Not knowing that it would be awhile when I could feel this again

Living here with my family for 14 years

I am from here

My life was here in Surprise, Arizona

But then my life changed when I moved to Minnesota

I was from cold drinks and ice cream on hot days

To hot drinks and smore's on cold days

I was from swimming pools and open-toed shoes

To skiing and snow boots

I was from shy and reserved

To expressive and full of words

I was from a small group of friends

To "friends 'til the end."

I was from a full house

To "It's a small world now"

I am from school first boys later

I am from God our creator

I am from church and scholarly

I am from writing and poetry

I am from many things

I am from changes

But one thing I will always be from,

Is me.
