I Am

I am me.

I wonder who me is.

I hear what people want me to be.

I see people watching me, waiting.

I want me to be me.

I am me.

I pretend I don’t care.

I feel like I do.

I touch the fog of what me used to be.

I worry that me isn’t me.

I cry out, “me is me!”

I am me.

I understand who they want me to be.

I say I don’t care, me is me.

I dream it was ok to be me.

I try to resist not being me.

I can, I will be me.

I am me.
