I Am...

I am who God says I am.

Many call it strange

many call it unique

you'll understand the more you seek

Growing up an african american

you witness many different things

many of us are trapped

while many of us spread our wings

I am me and I am beautiful

Nappy hair and thick full lips

I love so hard that my heart is full

the way I walk and sway my hips

make me unique and great

I am me, for my own sake

I am who I am, unique with every gram

I am who God says I am
