I am 9, 16 and every number in between.
I am ambiguous.
from my African flair,
to my curly hair.
from the Saturday morning cartoons,
to my growing intelligence that blooms.
I am ambiguous.
never am I only one thing.
I am my 9-year-oldself on a sparkling Christmas morning,
I am my 10-year-oldself during my glorious first double-digit birthday,
I am my parents daughter,
I am a child of God.
I am my 11-year-oldself nervous for the first day of middle school,
I am my 12-year-oldself ecstatic for my choir concerts,
I am ambiguous.
from my goofy dancing,
to my shy glancing.
from the horrible puns,
to my favorite Mindy Project reruns.
I am my 13-year-oldself who is trying to fing the real me.
I am my 14-year-oldself attempting to understand society.I am a singer,
I am a Roman Catholic.
I am my 15-year-oldself worrying about college.
I am my 16-year-oldself who is more confident than before.
I.
am.
ambiguous.
