I Am...

I am a confident young lady who is strengthened by Christianity
I wonder if Heaven really has streets made of glistening gold
I hear the blue birds singing the melody of the choir all around me
I see the way the blackened sky is sprinkled with stars
I want to be able to see the Lord in His majestic land called Heaven
I am a confident young lady who is strengthened by Christianity

I pretend to live in the close future; to imagine what my career will be like
I feel the next chapter in my life is to be a greatly skilled cosmetologist
I touch the shears and I know this career will bring me joy
I worry if continually practicing to be a cosmetologist will pay off
I cry when I ponder about my grandmother who is no longer with me
I am a confident young lady who is strengthened by Christianity

I understand that the Lord is with me for always
I say my prayers often enough
I dream about my grandmother in Heaven; I know she is happy
I try to be the best I can possibly be
I hope that I meet my grandmother on the glittering paths in Heaven
I am a confident young lady who is strengthened by Christianity
