I Am...
I am a human,
a developed being in this thing we call
the universe
I am a woman in this world
just fighting to get somewhere
I am a mother,
a fierce lover and leader of my pack
I am a laundry folder,
a snot wiper
a skinned-knee fixer.
I am a note-taker,
an organized mess
my mind scattered a million places
across my home.
I am a dog lover, a toy collector,
a friend and listening ear.
I am a driven, independent soul
who still needs a shoulder to cry on
I am an Autumn lover,
a southern girl,
a cooker of cornbread and apple pies.
I am understanding,
accepting of the unique,
the artists and the tortured souls.
I am a dreamer,
a goal-setter,
and the cold side of the pillow.
I am a tornado of to-do lists,
and photographs on a shelf
and at the end of the day,
I am just myself.
