I am an ant.
I am an ant.
I am an ant lost, frantically looking for his ant hill friends, because somewhere for some reason, maybe even out of spite, some mean kid, decided to step on some ant hill, so he could impress some of his friends.
And now I frantically run, sprint even, from side to side in no particular pattern, not really covering any ground because I am blind with this rock on my back, the burden of my life.
I would like to stop and return this rock to where I found it
Maybe I’ll just drop it off on the side of the road and continue along my journey without unbearable weight
But the burden of duty keeps me going
My ant hill will rebuild and when they do they will need rocks.
I will remain frantic until I find another lost ant, a member of my family who can understand my situation
I will look at his antenna and he will see the rock crushing my thorax
And we will hold hands and frantically meander together until we find our way home.
