It's said you can't start the next chapter Until you stop rereading the last But my book is quite full of beginnings and ends Repetitive tales of the past I need a new page to start on A new pen with which to write I need a new editor to read the plot And shed on it new light I'll pick a new mood, topic, and theme Build over the old lessons learned I'll write so that guilt and regret Can't catch up to the dreams I have earned I know no amount of literature Can erase a past mistake But I have a new book before me And its future I make
