I Am Awesome

Fat, Ugly, Black, and Dumb,

Words that often make me numb.

My body is nothing of your concern,

Body positivity is what I have learned because

I Am Awesome

Rolls that jiggle,

Hips that wiggle,

I’m healthy that is all that counts.

So keep my weight out your mouth because

I Am Awesome

Ugly may be what i am to you,

But insecurities cloud your view.

Who are you to say?

I love my looks in every way because

I Am Awesome

My skin is dark,

Racial slurs have left their mark.

People often miss one thing,

I am the child of an interracial fling because

I Am Awesome

I am often confused as dumb,

just because my time to shine is yet to come.

I was the Salutatorian of my high school,

my parents didn't raise a fool because

I Am Awesome

All the things that make me me,

are things that some will never be.

Why should we judge those for who they are?

When we all have potential to be a star because

We Are Awesome
