I am a Ballad

I am The Ballad

A song that must be heard

A voice that must be discovered

An unforgiving tale of woe

With soft beginnings

Happy, quiet beginnings

That shines upon the world

and lets it believe in itself again

But as the pauses and breaks

the rests and aches

linger across the lands

It finds that believing is never enough

And when the notes form loud and violent

Those notes that tremble the heart

You find my true purpose

My true woes

You find that I am and you are

The Ballad
