I am beautiful

You're told for most of your life that you're perfect,

from people you've known forever,

and some for only a few minutes.

Yet, you don't believe them.

You tell yourself,

"They're lying. They don't care."

Then someone breaks your heart and you cry for 3 days.

You realize he lied when he said you were perfect.

Your friends still tell you you're perfect,

all a lie.

They tell you it'll be okay, he was dumb, you'll get through this.

Be strong because you are.

It takes you four more years

to realize while you were never perfect,

you are beautiful, strong, and independent.

You didn't need others to tell you that.

I am beautiful.
