"I Am A Black Man"
“I am a Black MAN”
I am a black man...Standing so tall and bold.
I am a black man, check the Jordan sign on my sole.
No pun intended there, he just has us under control.
I am a black man...standing so broad and proud.
I make the pennies for my family, I made it here from the ground
I am a black man...I come from a different world.
My hair is jet black and comes in form of a curl.
I am a black man...I want to ball like Lebron.
Always overlooking the brains and going straight for the brawn.
I am a black man...im hustling in the streets.
Counting the children whose fathers were deadbeats.
I am a black man writing poems at the age of eleven.
Sometimes I wonder if I could even get to Heaven.
I am a black man...holding a gun at the age of nine…
I should have been dead already but I guess it wasn’t my time.
POW.
