I Am.. A broken melody

I am a broken melody

shaped by the songs of my family.

The words, the emotions, the actions

formed a one note songs.

All I know is perfection; it is what I strive to be.

But how can I possibly be perfect

when I am simply me?

Uncomfortable in my own skin

how can I ever truly fit in?

I am an athlete, a dreamer, a go getter,

Yes this is true

But how can I ever truly be me

With a broken melody?
