I AM COMPLICATED

I am the fight.

The day to day struggle,

The pain I combat with all my might.

At the end of the day I cry a puddle.

I am support.

A pillar hope,

A Ward of the Court,

Always learning to cope.

I am the giggles.

Work for their smiles,

Encourage those squiggles,

And creative styles.

I am the heart.

Compassionate to a fault,

Never think a la carte.

I am the medicine cabinet,

Carry my pills, praying for relief.

Pill after pill, it has become habit.

Chronic pain freedom is always brief.

I see little hands and little feet,

Their sweet hugs and kisses can’t be beat.

I am their strength as they are mine,

In their eyes I am perfectly fine.

I am their beginning.

Builder of confidence,

Their little minds, I am imprinting,

I make the difference.

I am pain.

I am strength.

I am teacher.

I am me.
