I am... (From the County)

I am from lawn mowers, from John Deere, and diesel.

I am from the valley, small houses with large families, and the smell of donuts wafting through the shutters.

I am from the blueberries, lilacs, and the Aura Borealis, the pines, dandelions, and vastness of winter.

I am from weekly mass and daily prayer, from nights passed playing cards, from Armand and Beverly and the Chasse family.

I am from the early risers, I am from the up all nighters.

From live for your dreams and love one another.

I am from the Lord is first, serve him all the days of your life, and love God with all your heart, mind, and soul.

I am from Grand Isle, Maine, the Acadians, Homemade, and Patate Fricasse.

From the “Do you know where you are?” asked the nurse, to the “Not in Kansas, anymore,” from Uncle Pat after being in an accident.

I am from cameras, Rubix Cubes, and knowing there is always comfort at home.
