I Am Done

I am done.

Nevermore will you see my face,

Nevermore will you hear my voice.

You will never again pull me into an embrace.

I am done.

I will never again see your face,

Never again hear your false voice.

I will never again fall into your trap.

I am done.

I thought I’d never see the light of day,

Thought I’d never get to escape.

I will never let my freedom go.

I am done.

I knew you’d never let me go,

That I’d be forced to join you down below.

I’ll never let you force me though.

I am done.

I can’t go back to you,

Can’t go back to that fate.

I can’t let you step on me again.

I am done.

Now tearless I rise,

Now fearless I stand.

I will always stand aside from your fear-filled land.

I am done.

Good riddance,

Nevermore do I need company.

Now I will live alone in peace because

I am done.

And I mean it.
