I Am an Eagle

I am an eagle because of the flight.

The flight, flying, not soaring

To Heaven and beyond in all its glory.

I am not soaring, for turbulence is at every checkpoint

Of this long flight to see the face

Of the maker, the builder, the creator of me.

Though I’m tempted to descend to land,

I humbly fly on to my destination.

I’m an eagle because of the flight.
