I am everyone and me
Mom,
I am your first daughter, after having three boys.
I am the flake of snow you try to taste on your tongue after it hasn’t snowed all winter.
I am the reason you cry in your car sometimes, wiping your tears away before I can see.
I am the reason you crawl out of bed in the morning, just to make sure I have lunch for school.
I am a maturing young women, one you always wanted me to be.
Dad,
I am your first daughter.
I am the reason you work your ass off doing overtime whenever you can.
I am the reason you should quit smoking cigarette packs.
I am the reason your bank account is (nearly) empty, but
I am the reason you smile and laugh while knowing that fact.
Brothers,
I am your sister.
I am the person you want to beat up, but mom won’t let you.
I am the person you try to outsmart.
I am a nuisance, but you cannot help but to do whatever I ask.
I am your person to protect, whether you like it or not.
Sister,
I am the person you resemble.
I am Dr. Seuss when I read your silly books and mess up the words for speaking to fast.
I am a doctor when you have a booboo.
I am the one who makes your tummy hurt after giggling so much,
and I am the one who consoles you when you’re feeling blue.
Lover,
I am your first.
I am the reason to wake up and get a cup of coffee, so you can feel the warmth you do when you’re with me.
I am your reason to keep going after you’ve had a long day.
I am the light of your life, and when you’re so angry you want to leave;
I am the reason you stay.
Me,
I am a mind of rapid thoughts, which never seem to flow smoothly.
I am a clutz, who sometimes trips my own self up.
I am a person of knowledge, but sometimes I can never seem to spit it all out.
I am the one flower in a field of garden that is beautiful but doesn’t grow quite like the others.
Mom, dad, brothers, sister, and lover, thank you for loving me, without a doubt.
