I Am Everything

I Am Everything

By: Satarra Johnson-Kidd

As I look in the mirror what's the first thing I see

A brown skinned girl with a kinky afro staring back at me

With my big lips and my cocoa brown eyes

Its hard to see how people couldn't love this wonderful prize

From my head to my toe I admire every feature

I thank God every day that he created this  beautiful creature

From the sway of my hips as I walk down the street

I think to myself that life is wonderful and it can't be beat

Everything God gave me people stop to admire

I've heard so many "gorgeous," and "pretties" I'm starting to get tired

I've learn to love the bigness of my lips

The wideness of my nose and thickness in my hips

The shake in my walk

The twang in my talk

I am the shine that lights up the buildings every night

I am strength, courage, beauty, and light

I am everything
