I Am Fire

I am fire,

I started out a diminutive flame,

But have gradually matured into a colossal, fiery blaze.

I am fire,

Constantly being ignited by sparks,

Constantly growing and being fueled.

I am fire,

Crackling, sizzling, burning from within;

A flickering ember with the aspiration to

Glow, to illuminate the world.

I am fire,

I can diminish buildings, scorch fields,

And whip out a city from my combustion.

I contain more power than meets the eye

And though I started out small,

I end with a boom.

I am fire,

I grow, I mature, and I burn with desire to develop

Into bigger, greater things.
