I am flawed but flawless

Role models are flawed

And so am I

From a young age I have worked for what I wanted

A lot of time I was bartered

But with support I fought through and triumphed

Death has always been in my life

From my grandmother to my uncle

I have mourned

And I have grieved

In their memory I only remember what their accomplishments were

All the men and women in my family are and were strong

Every day I am surrounded by men and women that hold down a steady job and a family

My grandmother was that way

She could do just about anything

I have looked up to her, even after her death

She always supported me

I have grown to be like her,

From her attitude

To her stubbornness

I have also gotten a few unwanted things as well,

I have gotten bipolar-ism

Depression

And PTSD

But I survive

Some people may see all these as flaws,

But I see them as things that make me hard working and flawless
