I Am Free

My life is like a blade of grass, whenever I feel I am growing, I get mowed down only to start over again.  I have completed many of the tasks I wanted to, but the ones that have been uncompleted haunt me.  Most of the time when I begin to start something new, I do it wrong, but I never stop trying.  Even though to my friends I seem like an open person, I tend to keep my emotions bottled in.

Music has always been my therapist.  I’ve never been let down by music.  Every bad situation that has ever been thrown down my way has been patched by my connection with sweet melodies.  I have attempted many times to talk to others about my issues, but their solutions to my problems are not to my liking.  To me, putting my headphones on and thinking about how I can fix my problems by myself is the best solution.

My grandfather is my biggest idol. Unfortunately, I never actually formally met him because he passed away before I was born.  I have been told a lot about him, and everything that has been said to me has amazed me.  My life has been based off of living in a way that I believe would be satisfying to him.  When my father was young, my grandfather gave him a wallet that he had received while serving in Vietnam, and my father gave the wallet to me.  The wallet represents my grandfather’s memory to me, so I carry it with me proudly.

There are many perks to growing up in West Virginia, and one of them is being a West Virginia University Mountaineers fan.  My father sweats, bleeds, and cries WVU sports.  The tradition of loving WVU was heavily passed down to me, and I love it.  Being such a huge fan makes me look forward to game day.  The thing my father really informed me about was the history of the sports programs.  I know a lot more about WVU than I should.  I am happy to have lived my life for WVU.

According to the many things that I enjoy doing, you would expect me to be an open person, but I just do not enjoy expressing my feelings.  It is very important that I keep the traditions that have been passed down to me alive.  Although I do not enjoy expressing my feelings, I will always enjoy doing things that matter to me.  Music, my grandfather’s memory, and WVU are some of the most important things in my life, and I plan to never stop loving them.
