I am growing up.

Life has not been a one way street,

but one of winds and turns and rough old concrete.

I had never imagined life would end up right here,

fixing to face my greatest fear.

I am leaving home and starting brand new,

but I am just a kid how will I know what to do?

Leaving your parents and a life you have always known,

for a dorm room and a microwave you are now to call home.

One kid with a dream to be just like mom one day,

to grow up and have a family and maybe move away.

Now that time has come and I have to leave,

and you keep pushing me for the dreams you know i can achieve.

I know you have taught me right from wrong,

and more than anything to always be strong.

So here I go, starting brand new

going for my dream to be just like you.
