I Am Grown...

There are so many different out looks on age. Some say age is just a number, however, those same people are quick to hold others back or stop someone from doing something because of their age. The majority has said that a person must be 18 before they can legally begin to kill themselves from the inside out, before they have the right to call on someone to ultimately control the things around them that governs what they can and cannot do with their lives, before they can legally sign their lives away to another person, before they can willingly stand in a line and “die with honor,” and many more things. Even with all these rights some people still don’t see 18 as an adult. They see them as just a teenager who hasn’t really experienced life. However, this poses another question, when can a person be labeled as experienced? Some five and six year olds have seen and lived in situations that some 30 year olds can only experience by reading it in a book or watching it on a television. Why is it that situations don’t determine experience? The majority has also said that a person must be 21 before they can legally drown themselves, before they can legally hold the lives of others in their own hands, and before they have the right to become slaves to chance.
